Teacher / Students - 2019 - 2020

Teacher/Student ratio growth at our school adding a second grade teacher. There will be 6 teachers in 2nd grade.

We will get the state count after the 10th day of school.

Students/teachers 1:23 in lower graders & 1:25/27 in upper grades.

We are hiring some new teachers because some teachers are leaving for person reasons and two are retiring (Stallworth & Perry). We have hired 3-4 already and in the process of looking at applications.

We are implementing a new fact fluency program for Kindergarten thru 5th grade for students who don't know their facts to use throughout the day and learn in a fun way.

WIN Academy is similar to summer school. The Board sent us a list of names that are invited to come. It is being held at Pearl Stephens Elementary school. Eligible students will be bussed there if they choose to attend. It will be enrichment, STEM activities, and fun.

5th grade GTE class went Thursday and Friday to Saint Augustine, Florida and explored Fort, Ripley's Believe it or Not in Orlando, Medieval Times Dinner Theaters with jousting, and Universal Studios. They came home on Friday.

On May 1st, we had our PBIS state walkthrough. There are 4 phases. This is year 2 for us. The stages are installation, emergent, operation, and distinguished. We can now apply for emergent at our school.

We will take nominations.

We have the fundraising in a reserve account where we are not touching it except to purchase playground equipment and Marquis. We are going to buy the pieces we can for the playground to make it look good. Play World is going to do construction this summer.

Sabrina Jones is growing school student leaders with student council for grades 4th and 5th.
